Tom Potter, Co-Founder, President.
Potter co-founded the Brooklyn Brewery in 1987, serving as CEO and Chairman of the Board. In 2004 Tom retired to travel the world in search of kayaking adventures before returning in 2008 to begin early planning for the New York Distilling Company. He is the co-author of “Beer School: Bottling Success at the Brooklyn Brewery” and a past Executive Director of the American Institute of Wine & Food, currently serving as chairman of the AIWF Foundation. Tom is also the director of The Michael Jackson Education Fund, an internship named for the eponymous writer and lecturer on beer and distilled spirits.
Allen Katz, Co-Founder, Vice-President – Product Development and Brand Ambassador.
Allen is one of the nation’s leading experts on distilled spirits and cocktails. He is the Director of the Spirits Education & Mixology for Southern Wine & Spirits of New York and is at the forefront of industry training in New York and around the country. Allen is the host of the The Cocktail Hour, a weekly program on Martha Stewart’s SiriusXM Satellite Radio (SiriusXM 110) and is renowned for his public and professional seminars on topics of America’s food and cocktail heritage. He is a past Chairman of Slow Food U.S.A. and serves on the Board of Directors for the New Orleans Culinary & Culture Preservation Society and The Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
Bill Potter, Co-Founder, Production Manager.
Bill Potter has worked in the fine dining service industry for ten years. He was previously a server at the famed downtown Manhattan restaurant The Tribeca Grill, as well as with Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group working at Blue Smoke/Jazz Standard and Tabla. Bill is a member of the American Sommelier Association, and gained his Spirits Specialist certification (CSS) from the Society of Wine Educators. Bill has also been a AASI level II certified snowboard instructor at Vail, Colorado.

Jason Grizzanti, Consulting Master Distiller.
Jason is the co-founder and Director of Operations at The Warwick Valley Winery and Distillery and is the most experienced artisan distiller in the New York region. Having trained at both the Seibel Institute in Chicago and Heriot-Watt University in Scotland, Jason has a unique expertise in grain fermentation, practical distillation and distillery-design.
